Take Action: Tell Congress to Act on Expired Tax Provisions

Congress just released the text of a tax bill to extend or make permanent vital manufacturing tax credits. The bill makes permanent R&D with AMT Claim and Section 179 Equipment Expensing, while also extending Bonus Depreciation through 2019 with AMT Claim. The House Rules Committee will take up the measure TODAY at 3:00pm, setting up votes beginning in the U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday! We need you to contact your Senators and Representatives, where you live and where you work, and tell them to support the Tax Extenders bill making R&D and Section 179 permanent and extending Bonus Depreciation.

On January 1, Congress allowed these provisions and dozens of others to expire, costing One Voice manufacturers hundreds of thousands in tax increases. Many of these manufacturing investment credits and deductions have broad bipartisan support and lawmakers need to know what is at stake. Roughly 90% of One Voice members use Bonus Depreciation and Section 179 Expensing each year as many spend over a million dollars annually investing in new equipment and capital expenditures. In addition, nearly half of PMA and NTMA members claim the R&D Tax Credit and are helping drive innovation in their industries.

Please contact your Senators and Representatives NOW by clicking here ask them to support the Tax Extenders bill when it comes to the floor for a vote and provide manufacturers with the stability you need to plan, invest, and hire new workers.
